Osteoporosis - diet phytoestrogens

The strength of bones depends on a number of factors such as adequate vitamin D blood levels, weight bearing exercises, reducing stress [which reduces cortisol levels] and a healthy diet such as consuming adequate levels of legumes and calcium foods. A number of trials found diets high in isoflavones – also known as plant estrogens or phytoestrogens – such as those found in legumes when consumed by women around menopause time can help reduce bone loss and hence, prevention of osteoporosis.
